Katwa College is at Katwa, a sub-divisional town in West bengal. It was established in the year of 1948. The College is situated 1.5 KM away towards north from its nearest railway station, Katwa Jn. The College obtained an extension of affilation to the B.T. (presently known as B.Ed.) Course from the begining of the academic session 1969-70. Now, the B.Ed. Course approved by NCTE and affiliated under the University of Burdwan. The B.Ed Courses has been running since 1969, recognised by NCTE and affiliated to the University of Burdwan.

7. To encourage girl students in securing higher education especially who are coming from families with conservative values;
8. To grow awareness about women empowerment and social rights amongst the female students.
